GameConqueror Tutorial (Linux installation & tricks)

Here we go with a superb introduction of getting and setting up game conqueror. 

Quick for Nerds

For most of you its just a step ahead by installing using Terminal. As you might have accustomed to use terminal to install apps.

In most setups, installing game conqueror doesn't take much. If you are on a debian based distribution try this on command line. I do not have any steps for those who are on a YUM thing.

$ sudo apt-get install gameconqueror

After that, you're all done. Set to go. Just open the app via terminal using "gameconqueror" binary or open via the shortcut in your Gnome Menu / Unity Launcher.

Basics of Cheat Engine(Windows) or Game Conqueror(Linux) or The Cheat(Mac)

In this chapter , we will cover about the basics of Cheat Engine(Windows) or Game Conqueror(Linux) or The Cheat(Mac) or CheatEngine for Mac OS X 

The softwares told above are available to Windows,Linux,Mac respectively. They can be downloaded from internet. the quick links are given below.




CheatEngine http://cheatengine.org

Gameconqueror: $ sudo apt-get install gameconqueror

Mac: http://the-cheat.en.softonic.com/mac

In CheatEngine 6.3 or later. many tools are available and there is a cool guide to use it.

For these applications, the proper process should be choosen to work as expected. As usual this blog only covers Farm Ville 2, a flash based game. Here is the step to select the accurate Process in Windows and Linux Platforms.

In Both Platforms , Chrome works perfectly without crashing.

In CheatEngine with Chrome(Windows),

1. Close down all running Chrome Apps and Tabs. Just have only one window. this will make easier the finding. 

2. Select the process which uses maximum memory out of "chrome.exe" processes.


In CheatEngine with Firefox(Windows) NOT RECOMMENDED METHOD.

1. Select the 2nd or 3rd plugin-container.exe


In Gameconqueror with Chrome(Linux)

1. Open the process window.
2. Search with "fla"
3. You will get a process running , Select it. Thats the Chrome which runs the Game.

In Gameconqueror with Firefox(Linux)

1. Open the Processes window.
2. Select the 2nd or most memory using Flash Plugin Container.(find that in System Monitor or "top" command in CLI)
3. Now you have got the Plugin container which runs the Game. follow rest of the Hacks in sidebar.

In Linux, The Chrome processes can be filtered. So be feel free to keep other tabs open on LINUX based Platforms.


In The Cheat with Chrome(Mac)

HINT:- You may need to close down all chrome tabs

1. Open the processes by clicking the Right Side Dropdown.
2. Select the correct Chrome
3. You got the process running. now you can follow the sections of our Articles.
